working safely with COVID-19
Updated 13th May 2020
During the COVID-19 lockdown, we are offering virtual interior design consultations and are working from home as much as we can, but
at some stage we will need to commence client/site visits so we have put together guidelines we will be adhering to in order to keep ourselves and our clients safe during this time.
Our aim is not to overcomplicate project work/ appointments but to keep both ourselves and our clients safe. Whilst we want to get back to doing what we love, we take our responsibilities seriously in doing our part to eliminate this awful virus.
During the COVID-19 lockdown, we are offering virtual interior design consultations and are working from home as much as we can, but
at some stage we will need to commence client/site visits so we have put together guidelines we will be adhering to in order to keep ourselves and our clients safe during this time.
- No work should be carried out in a household which is isolating because one or more family members has symptoms or where an individual has been advised to shield so we will call beforehand to check it is safe to visit.
- We will communicate with our clients prior to any visit to discuss how the work will be carried out to minimise risk for all parties
- When working in a household where somebody is clinically vulnerable, but has not been asked to shield, for example, the home of someone over 70, prior arrangements will be made by phone to avoid any face-to-face contact, for example, when answering the door.
- Both clients and ourselves (including all contractors) should be particularly strict about hand-washing, coughing and sneezing hygiene, such as covering your nose and mouth and disposing of single-use tissues.
- Any sample books/ equipment bought onto site will be cleaned with clinical wipes to reduce the risk of possibly passing the infection on to other people.
- We will use face masks and disposable gloves upon entering the premises and these will be disposed of after each appointment. When we are carrying out physical jobs ie. the tradespeople who do the work are often the best people to understand the risks involved and will have a view on how to work safely to complete the task so this will be discussed with the client at the time.
- Social distancing will be carried out at all times
- We will remove all packaging of products fitted or installed on site and dispose of to reduce the risk of contamination.
- We will endeavour to keep the activity time involved on site as short as possible
Our aim is not to overcomplicate project work/ appointments but to keep both ourselves and our clients safe. Whilst we want to get back to doing what we love, we take our responsibilities seriously in doing our part to eliminate this awful virus.
